Today’s preview is on Finkly Interactive’s Fare City Version 1.1 Update that will be released in two weeks or so. I spoke to developer Mike Woods who granted me a preview of their pre-released version.

Here are some new additions:

“The new map not only adds a more complex cityscape but also a train the can interrupt the taxi’s path”

Overview: Koi Pond is great. It’s relaxing, and fun to play with. You have a virtual pond filling up your screen, and you can make it your own. Watch the Koi fish swim gracefully around your iPhone or iPod and interact with the virtual fish. A great app to play if your bored looking for entertainment, or just a way to get away from the outside world and escape into the world of Koi Pond.

Features: To customize your pond, first, you can change the color of the water. The selections are a dark blue, aqua, orange and green. You can select how many Koi’s you want to be swimming in your pond. From none to five. You can select the number of lily pads.  Also, change the bottom of the pond from rocks to tile if you wish. You can also add sounds you enhance your relaxation experience. Add the noise of rain falling, with the accompanied raindrops on your pond. Add the sounds of birds chirping, wind blowing, frogs jumping, or crickets chirping. You can also add a sleep timer, because the noise is very relaxing, so you might fall asleep with it.

Interact: The way you interact with the fish is by this. You can actually touch that water. Move your hand over the surface to create waves. The Koi will get scared, and swim away a bit, but they will always come back. Move the lily pads to wherever you want. If you shake your device, fish food will come out, and you can watch your Koi eat. Also, if you touch the screen, and slowly move it clockwise a couple times, the Koi will become attracted to your finger, and swim around it.

Pros: This is a great application. It’s relaxing and fun. You feel as if your really at a pond filled with Koi and your so close you can even touch the water, and interact with the beings that live underneath the surface. A great app to fall asleep to, with the relaxing noises. Also, you can make the pond your own, for only one dollar (1$) !

Cons: There arent many things wrong with this app. If you not into relaxing, and mostly into action games that get your adrenaline pumping, this might now be for you. But you can’t get frustrated with this app.

Conclusion: In my opinion, this application is a must for all iPod and iPhone users. You can’t go wrong, because its cheap, entertaining, and relaxing. I can’t stress it enough how much you will really like this app if you give it a try.

Overview: Titanic Rescue is a game by Donut Games in which men and women are stuck in a sinking ship. You, as the player, have to fling passengers off the ship and control the fast-moving life rafts underneath in a manner that catches the flying travelers. The game gets increasingly harder as the rafts move by quicker and the desperate riders jump off by themselves into the ocean below.

Features: Each passenger is actually a different type of person, unlike some games. You can actually tell that the people are unique: one person may be a jazz musician, a policeman, or just a normal panicking passenger. Otherwise, there isn’t much special about Titanic Rescue.

Pros: Fun, addictive gameplay and the simplistic soundtrack are endearing. Also, during the while I’ve had this game on my iPod touch I have not experienced a problem with the flicking process of the passengers, which I have encountered in other similar games.

Cons: The graphics are a little too simple. At times they appear to be pixellated which is not a very good view. The loading screen which is printed with ‘Donut Games’ appears for a little too long for me and this occurs quite often.

Conclusion: The game Titanic Rescue is cute and entertaining, and it will keep you busy for a while. It’s not the best game out there in the app store definitely, and there is no free version for you to try it out.

Overview: Meet one of the best advancements in iPhone gaming. Enigmo 2 is the sequel to perhaps the best iPhone puzzle game known. This Enigmo takes off in a brand new dimension, from factory to space the differences are clear. Instead of controlling multi colored droplets, and guiding them into the containers you use mirrors and other deflection tools to shoot a laser into a charged area. The cascading backgrounds in this game are absolutely incredible, which definitely adds to the gameplay. Use tolls as simplistic as the common mirror, to complicated items as pyramids all with a basic attempt at transferring energy.

Features: In Enigmo 2 you basic duty is to transport lasers, or the original droplets into their designated containers. The app features some many more unique ways to direct the energy flow. The graphics on the game are spot on, which is really great. The placement features are even more advanced. The precision and placement features obviously got a lot of thought and it shows. I found every tiny change i made effected the entire plan, which proved how accurate the effects were in this game.

Pros: The app is an amazing futuristic improvement on the classic game. The app has amazing quality, that really impressed me.

Cons: Although the water effects were replaced with lasers to add a nice effect, it made the game slightly difficult to understand. I found my self following my laser to check if the trajectory was right. I realized that the more levels I played, the more i had to rely on luck to achieve the goal rather then actual thought.

Conclusion: This app is definitely a step in the right direction from the old version. With some minor improvements this game could definitely soar to the top of the leaderboard. But I, personally put Enigmo on my App Sniper watch list, and when the price went down purchased it.

Overview: Cliffed is an amusing, playful game f0r the iPhone and iPod touch. Upon first entrance of the game, you are greeted with a second-long main screen and then a loading screen. Then you can choose if you want to play Single or Multiplayer. In the beginning, you are given only one character – a boy named Norm. Press his icon and then you will be launched into a game of Cliffed. Basically what you do is, using the two arrows on the opposite sides of the screen, control your character to roam around the moving stage. Make him fall down the gaps in the platforms to continue. If the character encounters a boulder, run to the other side of the screen and fall through the gap there.

Features: There are 12 characters to unlock and choose from. The game is great and fun for all ages. You can race up to 4 of your friends, and there’re local and global leaderboards. If you are too slow and the moving screen catches up to you, you are declared ‘Cliffed’ and the game is over. If you are fast during the game, you can unlock new characters and use them in the game.

Pros: The graphics in Cliffed are playful and cute. The gameplay is easy and quick; it has never shut down. The plot of the game is clever and it hasn’t gotten repetitive for me!

Cons: This is one of the few games that don’t have any cons at all.

Conclusion: I recommend anyone to buy Cliffed at $1.99 as soon as possible. This is my favorite application and I hope you all enjoy it too!
